Rowland Hall SummerWorks enriches summers with a variety of specialized camps, each tailored to spark interest and foster development in areas ranging from creative arts and sports to academic pursuits. These camps are thoughtfully designed to offer immersive experiences that inspire and engage young minds in their chosen fields of interest.

Tech Camps

Grades 3–8

Discover the excitement of game design at these interactive, 2 week-long camps designed for students in grades 3–8. Taught by Rowland Hall Middle School computer science teacher Mauricio Morán, each session immerses learners in hands-on adventures with coding, game mechanics, and artificial intelligence. Participants flex their creativity and strengthen critical thinking skills, culminating in dynamic projects that bring technology to life.

YouCubed Math Camp

Grades K–5

YouCubed is an approach to mathematics teaching and learning developed by a team of educators at Stanford University, led by Professor Jo Boaler. The goal of Professor Boaler’s team is to engage and inspire mathematical thinking and competency in students of all ages by educating and empowering teachers to transform the latest research into accessible and practical resources and strategies.

We will offer three camps, organized by grade level:

  • Kindergarten & Grade 1
  • Grades 2 & 3
  • Grades 4 & 5

Basketball Camp

Grades 3–8

Take your basketball skills to new heights! Our week-long camp combines expert coaching, daily drills, and fun competitions.

Led by athletic director and varsity boys basketball coach Zack Alvidrez, this program emphasizes skill development, teamwork, and personal growth. Hone shooting, dribbling, passing, and defense while building confidence and friendships in a supportive environment.

Grades 3–8

Get ready to kick your game up a notch at our high-energy, action-packed soccer camp! Perfect for players of all skill levels, this week “on the pitch” blends expert coaching, skill development, and tons of fun. 

Led by Dr. Kim Free, USSF “B” licensed and varsity coach at Rowland Hall, this camp creates an energetic, positive atmosphere where players are challenged, supported, and inspired to improve.

Volleyball Camp

Grades 3–8

Bump, set, and spike your way to an action-packed summer at our volleyball camp! Designed for players of all levels, this dynamic coed volleyball program focuses on skill-building, teamwork, and a love for the game. Campers will develop their serving, passing, setting, hitting, and blocking techniques through expert-led drills, practice sessions, and friendly matches. 

Led by our head Middle School volleyball coach, Sarah Yoon, the camp fosters a supportive environment where players can grow their confidence, sharpen strategies, and form lasting friendships.

Bravo String Orchestra
Camp

Under the guidance of Sarah Yoon, Director of Orchestra at Rowland Hall, young musicians of all levels will sharpen their skills through group rehearsals, interactive workshops, and fun music games-discovering creativity, teamwork, and lasting friendships along the way.
