Camp Roger for Winged Lions
A two-night adventure for our sixth through eighth gaders
Our three-day, two-night overnighter at Camp Roger is a tradition and hit with our campers each summer. This is the first summer we are offering this option to our middle school campers. We are excited! Located in the Soapstone Basin area of the Uinta mountains, YMCA Camp Roger is the ideal summer camp setting for kids looking to participate in traditional camp craft skills, ride horses, learn archery, hike, build and hang out around the campfire, and sleep overnight in cabins. Campers will travel in Rowland Hall vehicles Wednesday morning and return by the end of the camp day on Friday. Monday and Tuesday at camp will be spent at the McCarthey campus getting to know each other, participating in team building activities, and prepping for the trip. SummerWorks staff will accompany the campers on the trip and work together with YMCA Camp Roger staff to facilitate activities once on site.
