Activities

Our 8 through 12 year olds are encouraged to choose activity areas that reflect their personal interests and talents.  While many new and unique activities will be offered throughout the summer, campers will always have the opportunity to engage in the three broad areas of physical activity, outdoor adventure/environmental education, and arts & cultures.  On Monday mornings of each new camp week, mountaineers will choose their Focus Area for the week: Sport, Outdoor Adventure/Environmental Education, or Arts & Cultures.  Each week, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays will be Focus Days where the 8-12 year olds will spend the day immersed in their area of interest.  Some of the weekly activity offerings in those areas may include (*offerings subject to change):

Physical Activity

  • Team Sports (Soccer, Rugby, Lacrosse)
  • Mountain Biking (with the SLC Bike Collective)
  • Flight & Kite Sports (Paragliding & Kite education)
  • Endurance Sport & Physiology (XC Trail Running)
  • International Sports (Capoeira & Bocce)
  • Ultimate Frisbee & Frisbee Golf
  • Kayaking (indoor pool instruction & a day out on the water with The UT Kayak School)

Outdoor Adventure / Environmental Education

  • Rafting the Provo River
  • Outdoor Living Skills / Leave No Trace
  • High Ropes Course
  • Outdoor Rock Climbing
