Where do I go on the first day?

All campers must be signed in and out by a parent or approved guardian. Campers who are 4 & 5 years old will be signed in by their counselors in the Little Gym, all other campers will be signed in at the Cafeteria.  New for 2010, all campers will be picked up in their assigned classroom (there will be signs indicating where your child is at end of the day).  There is plenty of parking on both the north and south ends of the McCarthy campus.  Please help us reduce carbon output by turning off your car when you drop your camper(s) off.

Will there be an orientation for parents?

Yes. We will be announcing this date shortly. The purpose of this orientation is to meet SummerWorks staff, review activities and schedules, and provide insight into the registration process.

What happens if I need to cancel my registration?

Parents who register campers early and receive discounted rates will be refunded half of their cost for that week of camp, up until 5 pm on the Friday prior to that week of camp. Parents registering week-by-week may receive a full refund up until 5 p.m. on the Friday prior to that week of camp. No refunds will be given for no-shows or cancellations received after the Friday 5 pm deadline.

What if I have last minute changes to my registration?

The SummerWorks Director is happy to discuss your circumstances and will accommodate special needs to the best of our ability.

What if my child is sick?

In the effort to maintain a healthy camp community, we ask that you keep your sick child home from camp as long as he or she is running a fever or has other contagious symptoms within 24 hours of the camp day.  We appreciate advanced notice if your child will not attend camp; however, we cannot refund camp payments for sick days.

What if I have problems with the online registration process?

Please feel free to contact the SummerWorks office at 801-924-2973 and we will be happy to walk you through your registration.

What if I need to pick my camper up early or drop them off after camp has started for the day?

When you arrive at camp, the SummerWorks personnel will assist in locating your child for you.  Please refer to the week’s schedule, however, to make sure your child is not on a field trip if he or she needs to go home early.

What if my older camper wants to attend SummerRocks in the morning or afternoon?

A Rowland Hall shuttle will be available to transport SummerWorks half-day campers to and from SummerWorks and SummerRocks.  Parents of SummerWork/SummerRocks campers are asked to contact the SummerWorks Director or Assistant Director in advance of the start of the session in order to confirm transportation.
